Ricardo is a Civil and Environmental Engineer with a master’s degree on Civil Engineering for Risk Mitigation from Politecnico di Milano. Currently, Ricardo is a PhD student at the University of Melbourne. Ricardo focuses his research on the relationship between urban planning and disaster risk reduction, studying human settlements risk, sustainability, and dynamics before and after a disastrous event, through spatial analysis and remote sensing. Ricardo is a researcher at the Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety (CDMPS), the Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration (CSDILA), and the Urban and Regional Sustainability Research Group (SUR). He is also member of the Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction at the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY).
