Diana Prieto is a philosopher from the Universidad de Los Andes and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the same university. Her teaching and research experience revolves around socio-ecological memories, socio-environmental conflicts, and the anthropology of life. In recent years, she has conducted multispecies ethnographies and has focused on the intersection of soil studies and the human – rather than human relationship.
In the portfolio of Historical Ecology and Social Memory (EHMS), Diana has explored the socio-ecological memories in the vicinity of the Doña Juana volcano and has developed mappings of actors with whom she has managed to generate collaborative networks focused on local capacities and knowledge. Additionally, he has carried out archival research on ethnohistorical and archaeological information from the north of Nariño, has designed and executed cultural actions around cultural and archaeological heritage, and has compiled social, historical, and ethnoecological records with which he has developed an analysis database qualitative that has served as a tool to develop interdisciplinary research in the EHMS portfolio.
